Click <a href="welcome_htm.htm">HERE</a> to go to the text version of our site.</noscript> <div id="text"> <h3>Fine Art by Jaime Villa</h3> <p>Jaime Villa was born in Baños, Ecuador in the Province of Tungurahua. He has long been a part of the fine art community in Ecuador and is very well known both inside and outside the the art world in his native country. His distinctive style and flare has marked his works from the beginning. He continues to actively paint in his studio and is regularly involved in important exhibitions throughout the country.</p> <p>Since 1960 Jaime Villa has been participating in many excibitions both national and international, like the Salon de Octubre and the first Bienal of independence for Latinamerica in 1972. He has made many individual excibitions in Quito and Guayaquil - Ecuador and has also had excibitions in Los Angeles, USA - Lima, Peru - Mexico City, Mexico.</p> <p>Currently he is a Professor of Artistic Drawing and Design in the University Laica Vicente Rocafuerte de Guayaquil, Ecuador. These are but a few of the many exhibitions he has participated in in the past decades.</p> <p> </p> <p>Jaime Villa nacio en Baños Prov. Tungurahua Ecuador. Jaime Vila desde 1960 ha participado en varias exposiciones nacionales como el salon de Octubre , La Primera Bienal del Quito Salon de la Independencia Latinoamericano 1972 y en otros de caracter internacional. Ha realizado varias exposiciones individuales en Quito,Guayaquil,Los Angeles (U.S.A.), Lima ( Peru ) , Mexico .</p> <p>Sus obras se encuentran en importantes colecciones de Alemania, Francia, Suecia, España, Estados Unidos, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Pakistan, Australia, Japon.</p> <p>Actualmente es profesor de Dibujo Artistico en la Escuela de Diseño de la Universidad Laica Vicente Rocafuerte de Guayaquil. Algunos Galardones Obtenidos</p> <p>Primer premio Salon de pintura de Ambato. 1986 Obtuvo la Condecoracion de la Orden Nacional " Al Merito Artistico." 2002 Gano concurso y diseño 4 murales sobre paso a desnivel para la Ciudad de Guayaquil</p> <p> </p> <p>1967 - He was invited by the the State Department to visit the United States and tour various cities to observe museums of art. Among other places he visited was Miami, Chicago and Los Angeles.<br /> 1969 - He opened a Fine Art gallery, "Pachacamac", and bec ame more intensely occupied with his paintings and as a result his works became widely distributed in Guyayaquil, Ecuador. <br /> 1972 - He had an exhibition in the Museum Central Bank of Quito and participated in the Bienal in Quito, Ecuador<br /> 1974 - Exhibition in Maxwell Gallery in San Francisco, California. The exhibition was called: "The nine Ecuadorian Painters"<br /> 1976 - Grand Opening of the new Pachacamac Gallery. <br /> 1977 - He travelled to Telaviv- Israel to supervise an exhibition of his works. He also was commisioned to design for Ecuadorian Aviation the exterior Logo and design for 3 of thier airplanes. <br /> 1986 - Recieved the Decoration of the National Order of " Artistic Merit " <br /> 1987 - Participated in the Bienal in Cuenca, Ecuador<br /> 1990 - Exhibition in the Central Bank of Guayaquil <br /> 1991 - Febrery Exhibition in The Modern Art Museum in Cuenca, Ecuador <br /> 1995 - Exposition of The Private Collection of Banco del Pacifico for their 25 th. Anniversary. They also have a large collection of his art which on display in many of thier branches. <br /> 2002 - Exposicion in the Fine Art Museum in Cuenca <br /> 2002 - He was commissioned to design 4 murals in Guayaquil, Ecuador in an effort by the city to improve it's image.
